What we need:

Cake:

  • 8.82 oz butter
  • 7.05 oz flour 
  • 7.05 oz sugar 
  • 4 eggs 
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla 

Custard:

  • 625 ml milk
  • 2 packets pudding powder (not instant) 
  • 14.11 oz full fat yogurt 
  • 2 egg yolks 
  • 2 jars cherry compote 
  • 2 packets jelly that is red

How to do it:

  1. Line the baking tray with greaseproof paper. Heat the oven to  180°C. 
  2. Make the cake using the ingredients, place the batter in the baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. 
  3. Mix the pudding powder with a little milk and 4 tbsp of sugar. Boil the rest of the milk in a pot, add the pudding powder and mix well so  that you have a nice custard.
  4. After it boils for a while, remove from heat and stir so that it doesn't form any lumps. While it  is still tepid, add the yogurt and the egg yolks. 
  5. Spread the custard over the cake. Strain the cherries and place them over the custard. Bake for 15 minutes. 
  6. Let it cool and using the juice of the cherries make the jelly and spread it on top of the pie. 

Additional tips

It is best if you prepare it on the day before you serve it.
